In vitro Antimicrobial Properties of Pluronic F-127 Injectable Thermoresponsive Hydrogel

Pluronic F-127 (PF-127) hydrogel is a versatile biomaterial with promising applications in drug delivery, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. PF-127 has antiadhesive activity that prevents bacterial adhesion by creating hydrated layer on the surface. This property makes suitable for preventing implant-associated infections. In this study, we aimed to evaluate antibacterial properties of using field isolates Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive bacteria) Escherichia coli (Gram-negative compare them different antibiotic standards. The antimicrobial potential was assessed disk diffusion assays four standard concentrations (20%, 25%, 30%, 40%). test microorganisms were inoculated agar plates, sterile filter paper disks infused hydrogels placed alongside disks. After incubation, inhibition zones measured determine activity. Our results showed lacked intrinsic against S. E. at tested concentrations. conclusion, neutral carrier system loading antibiotics compounds. Its unique properties, such as biocompatibility thermo-responsive behaviour, combined its activity, make it an ideal candidate various biomedical applications.
